fun facts
Occupation: Professional Mascot
Why did you choose this line of work? I chose this line of work because I wanted to be adored by millions of people. As the mascot for the Milkmen there is no better way to be showcased to the world. Plus, I look "beefy" in the uniform.
Why the number 2% on your jersey? I chose 2% for two reasons, 2% is exactly how much body fat I have and it is my favorite kind of milk.
Favorite Mantra: Bo Knows Milkmen
Describe a typical "game day": I like to get my day started off by coming to Franklin Field and getting a long workout in. You do not get arms like these by just milking cows. After my workout I head over to the locker room to get my horns sharpened and make sure that they are polished real shiny. You can't be the best if you don't look the best! Once I feel like I look "sharp" enough, I find a uniform that isn't torn from my bulging biceps and head on over to the gate to greet my fans!
childhood
Is there a special meaning behind your name? Growing up, my dad lived on a farm in Kansas City in the mid-80's and was a huge Bo Jackson fanatic. So Naturally, when I was born he named me after his hero.
What were you doing before taking this job? The Milkmen found me while I was modeling for a fast food chain, but before that, I was an elite collegiate athlete. I played both football and baseball and received the Holstein Trophy, awarded to the nation's top cow. I've turned my attention to baseball and the Milkmen now!
Mascot career
What's the most rewarding aspect of your career? Being able to showcase my athletic ability and dance MOOves to all of the fans!
What's the most challenging part? I would say not charging after people that wear the color red, and not being able to eat the turf.
How did you get your foot in the door? You don't become the best mascot on the planet by getting your foot in the door...you do it by blowing the door off its hinges. I stormed in to Franklin Field with confidence and swagger. That is how I am going to take over this league.
What does it really take to make it and succeed in this career? A healthy diet of organic grass, biceps that cannot be contained by average shirts and being 100% lean beef.
Describe one of the best moments you've had on the job: Whenever I get to race against my other cow friends. Little do they know that I have been training for those races since I was just a young calf.
What's the hardest part of the day? The hardest part of every day is being mistaken for a mechanical bull. People think they can just hop on whenever they please.
What's you most interesting encounter you've ever had with a person on the job? I once had a young man ask to take a picture of me while he was eating a cheeseburger...
Do you have a goal for this season? I hope the team does a Bo Knows campaign for me!
Come see Bo Vine at a game this summer!
