MILKMEN TOP DOCKHOUNDS IN SEASON OPENER AT FRANKLIN FIELD FRIDAY NIGHT.
FRANKLIN, WI - The Milwaukee Milkmen of the American Association of Independent Professional Baseball opened their regular season Friday night at Franklin Field against one of newest teams in the association, the Lake Country DockHounds from Oconomowoc, Wisconsin.
“What an electric atmosphere to open up the regular season,” said Milwaukee Milkmen skipper Anthony Barone. “It was great to see our new guys like Keon (Barnum) and Will (Kengor) have a big night. They both have really meshed well with the culture we’ve created around our team and I look forward to some more big games from them and our other new guys later this season.”
Designated hitter, #34 Keon Barnum had a pair of homeruns on the night. One in the 3rd, the other a two run jack in the 8th inning just after left fielder, #4 Will Kengor drove in the game winning run.
“Everything just felt right tonight,” said Barnum after the game. “I think it was the fans who pushed me and the team over the hump with so much energy and passion. We’re going to keep this going and play hard every game so we can bring another championship to Milwaukee.”
